Preston Sturges broke free from his Paramount Pictures contract to run his own studio. His grand idea was to make a comedy starring retired film legend Harold Lloyd as the debut film for his new studio. Sturges and Lloyd's different approach to comedy led to on set clashes and things went from bad to worse when Sturges' silent partner, Howard Hughes, decided to not be so silent.
